Just for fun, there is a quick poll at the end of this post.
Do you have goals? Some of us are more goal-oriented than others. Nevertheless, it is good to want to accomplish things. The Bible does warn us against the sin selfish ambitions. We must be careful not to have idols in our life, and not to place anything above Jesus, but there is nothing wrong with setting some goals.
Christians are to live purposeful lives. Yes, we are supposed to be gentle, humble, meek, and we are called to have servants’ hearts, but by no means are we to ever go with the flow. You may be surprised to learn that going with the flow is actually detrimental to the life of a Christian.
We must be sober and vigilant because our adversary, the devil, is out like a lion seeking whom he may devour. The purpose of a Christian’s life is to serve God primarily, and we are to commit our ways to God. Christians should be devoted to seeking the kingdom of God first and foremost.
If we have God’s word written in our hearts, we won’t lead aimless lives.

God has bestowed us with different skills and abilities. Problems arise when we think we are superior to others, and when we believe our talents are better than somebody else’s, this is where we can fall down in the humility department. But God wants us to make the most of what He has given us and to be thankful.
Keep Your Eyes On The Prize
Philippians 3: 13-14 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Our lives should represent the Gospel; indeed, we are not saved by good works, but we are saved for good work, our should reflect this. We are not just meant to sit and wait and see what the future brings the Bible already tells us what the future brings, we are to work and live our lives in the spirit of excellence, serving our King.
Commit Your Ways To The Lord
The reason why so many of us fail to achieve our aims because we don’t put God first. We allow the negativity and toxicity of others to overcome us instead of recognizing it for what it is.
Have you ever told somebody that you wanted to be healthier and fitter only for them to turn around and tell you that there’s no point, life is too short to be worrying about your health and so on? There is nothing Godly, encouraging, or helpful about this type of response. It is up to you to not take ownership of it. Why set life goals? God is a God of order not chaos, if we are His people, there should be order in our lives.
Keep Calm Focus On Your Goals
Proverbs 21:5 The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.
If you aresomeone who falls under negativity (and the truth is many of us do) it might be wise to not tell people about your goals, protect it from toxic people, as they will only discourage you. There is nothing wrong with wanting to better yourself, and the small steps make such a difference.
When you stand with the word of God, you are not standing on sinking sand, you are standing on solid ground. God has plans for your future, and His plans are never to harm you, but always to help you. So go out there and live your life as a person on a mission.
The devil also has plans for us too, and it’s to lead us to ruin. He will put people in your path to sabotage you so that you accomplish nothing good. This is why we must focus on our savior. As a Christian, you are on a mission, God gives each one of us purpose. Work hard to achieve your goals and do not let anyone stand in your way. Keep your eyes upon Jesus. All too often, Christians readily give Into bullying and fail to realize their potential. The world is a hostile place, and for all the talk of empathy and inclusion. There is no room for those of us who live by the Gospel. Cling onto God with every ounce of strength you have.
